So I realize I dropped off the Rio Platano blog halfway through the story – bad form. But good news – after many a long night of editing, a very helpful test screening in San Francisco, and a fabulous premiere at the Manor House in Washington, DC, the film is now live! So, if you’d like to see the rest, check it out, and please, share it around. We want as many people as possible to see what’s going on in the Biosphere.
Amazingly enough, the day before the film premiered, UNESCO put the Rio Platano back onto the World Heritage in Danger list. This is an important, if wholly symbolic, step. Without tangible action and on-site management to back it up, the problems will only get worse. I hope the film convinces you of the reality of the dangers, and that this extraordinary place deserves our care and protection.
Hope you enjoy!
